The Desired Space team did a fantastic job remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms. From initial planning to execution, the design, demolition and construction/installation process was executed in a very professional manner. The only “glitch” involved delayed delivery by the outside subcontractor for our new cabinets, but was not the fault of the team at Desired Space. Daniel’s designs were clean and modern. From the moment Daniel Matus walked into our home for a consultation, I felt an instant connection. He brought two Desired Space team members with him, one to take pictures (after asking for permission first) and one to take notes. This commitment of time and resources shows how seriously Daniel takes his consultations. Our directive was simple - modernize our home and add a few wow factors. After taking in the nuances of our home and listening to my initial thoughts, Daniel began describing his ideas as we walked from room to room, seeming to incorporate my style and aesthetics at every turn. When other designers had offered vague concepts and "whatever you like" phrases, Daniel spoke in details (remove arches, tile wall, extend stone, bump-out wall) for particular locations (this wall, that fireplace) and with textures (stone, tile, glass, wallpaper). He was creative, knowledgeable, humorous and eccentric with just the right amount of arrogance. Color patterns and other specifics would follow, but in this initial visit, I could visualize his concept and the wow factors that would transform our home. It was clear to me Desired Space was the right design firm for me. Updating our home included squaring-off walkway arches; removing 1999 art-deco drywall curves; filling in a wall-recessed built-in media cabinet; removing a drywall hearth; removing a glass block and drywall shower separation; replacing etched baseboards with a more modern 5" white version; replacing builder-grade interior doors with solid-core, 9-panel doors painted white; replacing all brass-nickel-combo door hardware with black; painting ceilings white and walls a light gray throughout; retro-fitting LED recessed cans with white baffles; replacing biscuit-colored toilets with white, water-efficient flushing; replacing builder-grade cabinets with European style fronts and finished interiors; and replacing ceiling fans. These changes updated our home to the more modern feel we wanted and were all outlined by Daniel in that first consultation. The biggest wow factor is the incredible transformation of our master bathroom. While some design and finish choices were modified in varying degrees in other rooms over the course of the project, the master bath finishes as chosen by Daniel were perfect from the start. The colors are calming, and the vibe feels like an outdoor spa. We are absolutely ecstatic with the end result! Other wow factors we love are the stone wall in the master bedroom, complete with reclaimed wood fireplace mantle; the stone, floor-to-ceiling fireplace chimney in the great room; the stone pedestal sink and lighting of the powder room; and the extreme quaintness of our guest bath, which includes recycling the old master shower glass side panel as an artful and functional separation piece. During a huge project like this, there are a lot of decisions for the home owner to make. At every stage of work, from confirming measurements to selecting accessories, Daniel and his Project Coordinator Ashley Lopez were much-needed and much-appreciated resources. One thing I know about myself is that I have the tendency to over-decorate. So before hanging a piece of artwork or before purchasing mirrors, light fixtures, wall decor and the like, a text to Daniel and/or Ashley got me a quick thumbs up or thumbs down response. Daniel also helped me reduce my existing "chotchkies" in a creative way. He suggested displaying vintage photographs, smaller paintings and watercolors collected from past vacations, and shadow boxes of fun memorabilia as an art gallery in an entryway alcove. I hired Desired Space for my master bedroom/bathroom renovation and I am so happy I did. Daniel Matus is an interior designer and licensed contractor that also has a great staff to work with at the office. The office staff (especially Ashley Lopez, project coordinator) is easy to reach by phone and emails regularly. Daniel himself was involved in the renovation not only by planning, but regular site visits for quality control through each phase of the project before continuing to the next. I have had other companies in the past that have missed important steps in the renovation process that were costly to fix. Wow!!! My home is the home I dreamed about but had no idea how to transform or create or where to start. Daniel(the designer) came to my home. He talked with me and got to know me on what was important to live comfortably and how to display this. My Catholic Faith is very important to me and with his expertise he designed a custom entry in my home to display a replica painting of the Vilinius Divine Mercy. It is absolutely beautiful and everyday it brings me joy to see and know Jesus, I trust in You, the message of this painting. Especially during this pandemic. My family room no longer has a piece of furniture up against the wall with a tv on it. I have a mounted tv behind a custom built tile and beautiful custom cabinetry and lighting!! He also added lighting to a dim lit family room and kitchen area.All my guests love the beauty and work done in our home. My bathrooms no longer have those quick install showers. They have hand piece tiles from top to bottom and custom beautiful tall thick glass enclosures. They also both have custom fixtures and custom seating. We also replaced the standard track home bathroom lighting, sink fixtures and mirror. My home was built in 2016 and very nice, but needed custom touches to enhance the true beauty of my home. I really in this rating can not give you the fullness of what was designed in my home from before nice but boring to WOW!!!! Daniel the designer is super easy to work with and his team is amazing!!! My husband and I first met Daniel with Desired Space in the fall of 2017 after reading positive reviews in houzz. We knew we wanted to do a remodel in our home but did not know how to proceed in an efficient manner. Daniel came to our home within a day of us contacting him and our journey thus began. I shared with Daniel my hopes and expectations and he took charge from there. In short, we changed the color palette of the house; new hardware throughout; upgrading and installing lighting; new baseboards and the most dramatic feature was a new stone wall with a state of the art fireplace. During construction we encountered a couple of surprises with outside roofing and an air conditioning vent in need of repair but these items were handled flawlessly. Daniel and his team were amazing in transforming our home into a modern, updated version worthy of the twenty-first century. The quality of workmanship was outstanding. Let me begin by telling you that I have never had a contractor or service (concrete, landscape, roofing, repair) that I have not had some kind of a problem with. Either the work was shoddy or incomplete or late or too costly or less than what was represented. I am happy to report that I can no longer make that claim. Desired Space (Daniel Matus, Principal Designer) helped design and manage a $400,000 major interior house renovation. We lived out of state, 2,500 miles away and executed an extensive home remodel in Henderson where we planned to relocate to. Consequently we relied heavily on Daniel and his Team to design according to our desires, select finishes (lighting, toilets, counters, granite, quartz, tile, hardware, appliances, etc. etc.) for us to choose from. The details were many, the challenges were many and The Boss (my wife) was certain she knew what she wanted. Desired Space delivered against all of that in a professional, responsible, efficient and effective manner. Consequently they get our highest rating. I've had Desired Space help me with three projects in my home since I moved in over a year and a half ago. My first project was painting the house, changing all the doors, and changing the baseboards. The second project was adding floating shelves to the living room. The latest project was my kitchen. Shortly after I moved into my house Daniel came to my house, saw my space, and listened to what I had in mind. He took all of my information and my vision for my house and gave me several design options (paint colors, countertop choices, backsplash choices, hardware). Since I'm trying to work within my budget I didn't do everything at once. Daniel has been very accommodating and really tries to work within your budget. For example, to replace the countertop and add the backsplash in my kitchen the estimate came in a little higher than my budget would allow, so we revised the plan and took out the backsplash.
